Interior Detailing

Interior Detailing

Hi there. Most of us would want to at least not neglect the interior or cabin of our cars. Regularly vacuuming the carpets, floor mats and the seats tends to improve on its appearance a little bit though.

Well, we detail many cars monthly and over the years we noticed that some customers prefer to have their interior detailed more often than the exterior. There are many autos detailing outlets and their many methods to detail the interior. You can find tons of material on this all over the internet BUT as that song from Montell Jordan goes …this is how we do it.

  • Step 1: Survey the interior by noting down parts that are loose, broken and scratched.
  • Step 2: Check leather seats for colour fastness on an inconspicuous area and proceed with caution if the colour runs such as using a very mild cleanser.
  • Step 3: Remove all floor mats and clean it with a Soil Extraction Machine and leave it to dry.
  • Step 4: Empty out the glove compartment, armrest, centre console and other compartments off coins, receipts and keep it safe. They will be placed back where they were removed from when the job is completed. Vacuum the cabin.
  • Step 5: Empty out the boot and clean stains of the fabric manually or with the Soil Extraction Machine.
  • Step 6: Check roof liner. Look out for spots that are dirty and clean it carefully without applying too much pressure using a dedicated cleaner. Never machine clean them.
  • Step 7: Clean dirt off all the pillars and sun visors.
  • Step 8: Proceed with the dashboard, air-condition vents, entertainment console, speedometer, steering wheel etc.
  • Step 9: Clean the leather seats. Spray the leather cleaner onto a towel and wipe it evenly especially between the folds. Move on to the door panel, paying special attention to window control panel and door pockets. Repeat this until all the seats and doors have been completed.
  • Step 10: Clean safety belts with a multi-purpose cleaner and a clean towel.
  • Step 11: Check the floor carpets for stains. Either clean manually or use a Soil Extraction Machine to get the job done depending on severity.
  • Step 12: Apply the respective conditioners to the vinyl, plastic parts and the leather surfaces and let it set for about 20 mins. Remove the excess oils for a non-greasy finish.
  • Step 13: Vacuum the cabin again and check for spots or areas that may have been omitted especially the air con vents. Return to the boot whatever that was removed. Place floor mats correctly and neatly.

And that's how we do it. If it's too much, just send your car over.
